King County International Airport Residential Aircraft Noise Remedy Improvements Program (KCIA RANRIP)

Scope

The King County International Airport (KCIA) multi-year Sound Insulation Program is designed to reduce aircraft noise inside single-family residences (4-plex or smaller) within the noise mitigation area.  The voluntary program, open to all qualifying residences started in August 2005 and has treated over 650 homes to date (2015).

S.M. Stemper Architects is the program’s lead consultant and design architect responsible for design and construction of treatments including windows, doors, and other features as needed.  SMSA leads a multi-disciplined consultant team that works with Homeowners, the FAA, King County and all relevant jurisdictions.
